1. Vertical vs. Horizontal Architecture
Batedores Verticais are the standard for Brazilian feedlots handling heavy cattle manure. They require a robust T-Box that splits the power at 90 degrees to drive the base of the beater columns. This requires massive output bearings to support the weight and lateral thrust of the tall beaters. Batedores horizontais, often used for poultry litter, require a simpler L-Box or chain drive but spin at higher speeds to achieve fine pulverization.
2. Speed Increasing Thermodynamics
Beater gearboxes are typically Speed Increasers (e.g., 540 in, 800 out). Speed increasers generate significantly more heat than reducers. In the hot Brazilian climate, oil breakdown is a major risk. Our BD-Series housings feature extended thermal fins and an “Oil Slinger” internal design that bathes the upper bearings in cool oil, ensuring thermal equilibrium even under continuous 100% load.
3. The Chemical Barrier
Ammonia and Uric Acid are aggressive corrodents. They attack standard rubber seals and can pit steel shafts. EVER-POWER uses Stainless Steel Wear Sleeves on all output shafts. The seals run on this replaceable stainless surface, not the shaft itself. We also use FKM (Viton) seals which are chemically inert to manure, preventing the dreaded “black leak” that signals seal failure.
4. Shock Load Isolation
When a beater hits a rock, the gearbox feels a momentary torque spike that can exceed 10,000 Nm. To prevent gear tooth fracture, we recommend coupling our gearbox with an Overrunning Clutch (Free Wheel). 2. What kind of oil should I use?
We strongly recommend an EP (Extreme Pressure) Gear Oil, SAE 85W-140. The high viscosity protects the gear teeth under shock loads and maintains a film on the vertical bearings even when the box gets hot.
3. Do you sell the drive shafts for the beaters?
We provide the gearbox with splined output shafts. We can also supply the matching Splined Couplers or Flanges that you can weld onto your beater tubes, ensuring a perfect, wobble-free connection.
4. How do I protect the gearbox from rocks?
